Summer Reset Smoothie

BBQ, chips and guac, outdoor brunches, and dinners out. Summer is amazing but can also have you feeling bloated and sick by the end between too many hot dogs (guilty) and non-dairy ice cream binges. I had a great labor day weekend but was feeling so sick from all the heavy eating that I knew I needed a reset by Monday morning.

This smoothie did the trick. I threw in a bunch of kale we got from the farmer's market, some leftover cantaloupe, grapes, and watermelon, aloe juice, spirulina, collagen powder, a little lemon, ginger, fennel, and half a banana. The kale provides a good dose of greens and fiber, the aloe, ginger, and lemon helps to soothe the stomach and relax the bowels, the fruit adds a detoxifying kick, and the banana adds in just enough sweetness. Spriulina helps eliminate any candida upsetting the stomach while collage powder works to regulate blood flow.

The result? A totally non-green tasting smoothie that had me feeling better almost immediately. As we transition from summer to fall, I'd highly recommend this blend for a reset to be kind to your digestive system and put your body back on track. How was everyone else's labor day weekend? Let me know in the comments below!
